Updates: April 20
We continue to work under the direction of our medical director, Dr. Mark Erlebacher, and our infection prevention nurse to guide and educate our staff on the most current, up-to-date infection control policies and procedures. Based on their expertise, we continue to implement a variety of steps to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter campus buildings while protecting our residents and our staff without interruption to resident care.
Active measures we continue to take in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the Menorah Park facility and ensure that our residents and families are aware:
- Visitor Restriction Policy
- Staff and residents maintaining a social distance of six feet with the exception of staff assisting with resident care
- Individuals that must enter, including our staff, and essential vendors, must complete a health screening prior to moving throughout the facility
- Requiring all staff to wear masks
- Limiting access to residents’ floors to essential personnel
- Regular and frequent internal monitoring systems of hand hygiene with regular feedback to staff
- Visual reminders that hand hygiene helps residents and staff stay healthy
- Preventative measures are in place, if needed, which will include:
- Early contact isolation and droplet protection for individuals with temperature/resp symptoms before a definitive diagnosis is able to be made
- Isolation precautions pending tests results
- Residents in question will be asked to wear masks
- Keeping ill individuals away from healthy individuals whenever possible.
- Use of masks on residents with symptoms even in their rooms with doors closed
- Enhanced environmental cleaning with the use of appropriate cleaning products on surfaces that are EPA registered for COVID-19
- Continuing to keep informed of all new developments and recommendations from federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Notification of family members or next of kin for ALL residents if any resident tests positive for COVID-19, or if any resident suffers a COVID-19 related death, within 24 hours of such positive test result or death.

- Ongoing information regarding access to free testing.
Our utmost priority is offering care for our residents and supporting their families at this time. Should there be any medical changes or updates in a resident’s condition, families will be notified by our clinical staff.
