Eating, Recreation, and Learning for Older Adults in Syracuse, New York
Creating a continuum of care is a core principle at Menorah Park of CNY, and this approach extends beyond our senior living community’s independent, assisted living, and nursing facilities. Through the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation Center for Healthy Living, we offer eating, recreation, and learning opportunities that enrich the lives of residents and their loved ones. Our senior activities foster an intergenerational community, encourage independence, and help ensure a higher quality of life for every resident.
The Center for Healthy Living
At Menorah Park of CNY, health means more than simply avoiding illness. The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation Center for Healthy Living identifies seven dimensions of well-being that encompass the body, mind, and spirit. These include:
- Physical
- Social
- Intellectual
- Emotional
- Spiritual
- Vocational
- Environmental
Achieving this holistic wellness begins with a thriving community. To this end, the Center for Healthy Living welcomes residents, family members of all ages, staff, and the surrounding Central New York community to enjoy delicious, healthy food, learning opportunities, entertainment, and more.
Many of these opportunities are housed in Menorah Park of CNY’s Abraham Shankman Wellness Pavilion. Part of a major renovation to The Inn at Menorah Park assisted living facility and the Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, this space offers a variety of facilities that enhance quality of life and independence while emphasizing the seven dimensions of wellness.
