Care Services
Restoring independence and promoting well-being
The Jewish Health & Rehabilitation Center proudly offers the following healthcare and rehabilitation services, designed to restore an individual’s independence and promote wellbeing:
Physical Therapy
Upon acceptance to our facility, each new resident is given a physical exam, which informs our medical staff on the best course of physical therapy. This will include a combination of exercises in your room, as well as our fitness facility.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is designed to improve your functional capabilities. This makes day-to-day tasks much easier to complete and helps you regain a sense of control over your actions. You’ll work in the fitness center with one of our therapists and also be given exercises to do in your room.
Speech and Language Therapy and Audiology
Patients may be recommended speech and language therapy to strengthen their ability to speak or, in some cases, help those who have difficulty swallowing. An audiological evaluation may also be called for if your doctor thinks a hearing aid would be beneficial.
Care Coordination Team
Throughout your stay you will be meeting with several members of our team to oversee you medically and to help you reach your goals.

Skilled Nursing
In addition to our rehabilitation, Menorah Park is home to many residents who need ongoing nursing supervision. Depending on their needs, our building has different areas to reflect the needs of our residents. Each section trains staff according to the needs of the residents served. We also schedule activities and social events to meet the needs of our residents.
The First Floor unit of the Jewish Health and Rehabilitation Center focuses more on the needs of residents that are alert, oriented, and socially active. This floor accommodates the needs of both long-term care and rehabilitation residents.
The Second Floor unit of the Jewish Health and Rehabilitation Center focuses more on the needs of long-term care residents that have higher clinical needs.
The Terrace unit is specially designed to meet the needs of residents with more advanced Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our professional team has received the Positive Approach™ to Care (PAC) certification by Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, which follows the GEMS™ model of brain and brain changeability recognition. This certification allows for the best care for our memory care residents as well as providing our team the support they need to provide personalized care.
The Terrace provides the same comprehensive nursing home care and services in a safe setting, with specialized memory care from trained professionals.
In 1990, our skilled nurses established the Chai Unit. This was the beginning of our dedication to memory care in Syracuse, NY. Our memory care facility, The Terrace, was dedicated in 2002. Memory care at Menorah Park has focused on our residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
